Analog Signal Path: The MS-1-RD features a pure analog signal path, utilizing an authentic 3340 Voltage-Controlled Oscillator (VCO), Voltage-Controlled Filter (VCF), and Voltage-Controlled Amplifier (VCA), which are the same designs found in the original SH-101.
VCO with Multiple Waveforms: The 3340 VCO provides four simultaneously mixable waveforms: saw, triangle, square/pulse with pulse width modulation (PWM), and an octave-divided square sub-oscillator.
Flexible VCF: The highly flexible VCF allows for sound sculpting with faders for cutoff frequency, resonance, envelope and modulation depth, and keyboard follow. It can be modulated by the ADSR, keyboard tracking, and bender controller. It also includes six FM sources for creating unique filter effects.
ADSR Envelope: The synthesizer has a four-stage ADSR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) envelope generator for shaping sounds.
Sequencer and Arpeggiator: The MS-1-RD includes an easy-to-use 32-step sequencer that can store up to 64 patterns in 8 banks. It also has a built-in arpeggiator with eight different patterns.
Connectivity: It offers a variety of connectivity options, including CV/Gate I/O, MIDI In/Out/Thru, and USB MIDI. There is also an external audio input that allows you to process other sound sources through the MS-1's filter.
"Keytar" Design: The MS-1-RD comes with an attachable handgrip with a pitch bend wheel and a pitch modulation trigger, and a guitar strap, allowing it to be used as a "keytar" for live performances.
