The latest announcement from the Prime Minister on Sunday 10th May set out a phased approach to easing lockdown measures in the UK from early June 2020, depending on the ongoing situation with the COVID-19 virus.
Following this announcement, we are pleased to say that in June we are intending to commence a phased opening of our stores across England, Wales and Northern Ireland; once this has been cleared by the UK government. Our Scottish stores, however, are set to remain closed until we receive further guidance from the Scottish government, but we will continue to update our Scottish customers on this, as and when, we receive additional information.
Additionally, our webshop will also open again in June and will service customers across the whole of the UK.
Our priority will remain the safety of our customers and staff, and we are currently working through robust plans, which adhere to advice from the government and the World Health Organisation to ensure we reopen responsibly and with all necessary social distancing measures in place.
As the number one high street retailer of pre-owned goods, we want to return to our local communities and once again offer the products and services our customers need.
If you have an agreement with us using either our pawnbroking, layby or buyback services, you have our continued assurance that the items relating to these agreements are being held securely and will be available when we re-open. You will not incur any additional fees if your redemption date is within the period when stores were closed and will have 10 calendar days to redeem or extend your buyback items.
If you are unable to visit one of our stores within this period, please email email@example.com and your local store will then come back to you directly. Alternatively, you can telephone your local store to confirm alternative arrangements. All requests will be reviewed on an individual basis, with our customers’ safety as a priority. Please note that our social media channel inbox messages are not currently being monitored.
Additionally, if you are struggling or likely to struggle to meet any payments due under a regulated credit agreement, please contact us to discuss potential options. Cash Converters operates in accordance with the special measures announced by the Financial Conduct Authority in response to COVID-19 as well as providing the normal support in line with regulations.
Over the coming weeks, we will continue to keep you updated on our progress via our website and our social media channels.
We want to thank you all for your support, patience and understanding during what has been an extremely challenging period. We’re now looking forward to welcoming our customers safely back into our stores within the next few weeks.
Stay safe and see you soon.
