Proof of Address


All must be dated in the last 3 months, be an original document and posted.
(Apart from a UK Driving Licence, which must be in date)

  • UK/EEA/EU Photo Card Driving Licence (Full or Provisional)
  • House or Motor Insurance Certificate (Not a quote)
  • Current Benefits Agency letter
  • State or Local Authority Council Tax benefit letter
  • Courcil Tax Statement or Demand letter (Current Year)
  • Credit Card/Bank/Building Society Statement
  • Utility bill, gas, electricity, water, telephone (Not mobile) internet provider, TV Subscription (Sky, Virgin), TV Licence
  • Catalogue/Store Card Statement
  • Local Authority/Housing Association signed tenancy agreement.
  • HMRC notification
  • Proof of Identity will remain valid for a period of 6 months from the date of the transaction (Unless the Identity expires within the 6 months). Proof of Identity must be sighted, and uploaded appropriately by the store to prove it has been viewed by the individual operator every six months.

  • Proof of Address will remain valid for 6 months (At the point of the initial transaction and must be no more than three months old). The franchisee may ask for further proof of address within the 6-month period if deemed appropriate.

  • Old style paper Driving Licences are not acceptable.

  • Proof of Identity and Address verification cannot be from the same source.

  • A Photo Driving Licence may be used for proof of address if in date, however it is recommended that it has been issued within the last 6 months.

  • If a tenancy agreement is more than 3 months old, the franchisee may accept this as proof of address, if confirmed with the Local Authority or Housing Association, that the customer resides at the given address. The response must be recorded for future review.

  • When evidencing proof of address from Column “C” using a bank issued document, building society, credit card/insurance/catalogue company, or store card the provider must be FCA registered.

Once the Identity and Address verification has been completed for one product, the same evidence may be used for other product offerings for a maximum period of 6 months. Franchisees have the overriding discretion to request further proofs during this time. Proofs are valid in the store produced and cannot be transferred
